Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of focus instructions on shooting skills in novice shooters.
Methodology: The present study is based on the type of applied goal and was performed based on the method of quasi-experimental data collection as a pre-test and post-test two-group design. The sample of this study includes 30 novice shooters between the ages of 18 to 22 years who have according to the inclusion criteria (physical health, lack of familiarity with homework). A total of 30 shooters were selected by availability. Based on this, the subjects were randomly divided into two groups with pre-test and post-test design.
Results: There was a significant difference between the operating scores (12 sessions) in the acquisition of shooting skills (P <0.01). There was a significant difference between factor scores (12 training sessions) in the acquisition of shooting skills in the external focus group (P <0.01). There is a significant difference between the two groups of external focus and internal focus in shooting skills. Considering that the average acquisition of shooting skills in the external focus group (in the post-test stage is equal to (80.24) is higher than the average of the external focus group (67.08).
Conclusion: Exercises with the instructions of the external focus on the internal focus have a great impact on both the performance and the progress of the shooters, and the trainers try to use the exercises of the external focus in shooting training.
